  • UAE-based sustainability startup secures $550,000 in pre-seed funding.
  • The platform redistributes near-expiry and surplus products with discounts of up to 90%.
  • Expansion plans cover the UAE and the wider MENA region with a broader sustainability ecosystem vision.

ThrowMeNot, a UAE-based platform focused on redistributing near-expiry and surplus products, has closed a $550,000 pre-seed funding round, strengthening its position in the growing digital solutions market aimed at reducing food waste.

The round was led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mana bin Khalifa Saeed Al Maktoum. The company will use the funding to expand its team and enhance delivery and logistics capabilities, ensuring a seamless and reliable user experience.

A Digital Solution to Address Food Waste in the UAE

Founded in 2025 by UAE-based entrepreneur Archie Rodiek, ThrowMeNot addresses one of the region’s major environmental and social challenges. In the UAE alone, an estimated 3.27 million tons of food are wasted each year.

Through its platform, suppliers can recover value from products nearing expiration instead of discarding them, while consumers gain access to high-quality goods at significantly reduced prices.

Archie Rodiek, Co-Founder, said:

“In the UAE, an estimated 3.27 million tons of food are wasted annually. We launched ThrowMeNot to help suppliers recover value from near-expiry products while offering consumers quality goods at affordable prices.”

A Model That Combines Sustainability and Profitability

ThrowMeNot operates on a model that delivers dual impact:

  • Reducing food waste and supporting environmental sustainability

  • Enabling suppliers to generate revenue from surplus products

  • Providing consumers with affordable purchasing options

With discounts reaching up to 90%, the platform makes waste reduction both economically viable and convenient.

Regional Expansion Plans

ThrowMeNot plans to scale operations across the UAE before expanding into the Middle East and North Africa region. The company also aims to build a broader ecosystem of sustainable products, services, and initiatives that go beyond food, promoting conscious consumption in everyday life.
