Egypt Ventures has announced its full exit from InfiniLink, the Cairo-based semiconductor startup, following its acquisition by U.S.-based GlobalFoundries.

Founded in Cairo, InfiniLink focuses on designing silicon-photonic chips that enable high-speed data transfer with improved energy efficiency, supporting artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications. The company’s technology transmits data using light instead of electrical signals, enhancing data center speed and efficiency while providing an advanced infrastructure for AI and machine learning applications.

This exit marks one of Egypt Ventures’ most notable successes in the deep tech sector in Egypt and highlights the development of local engineering talent in the semiconductor field. InfiniLink has attracted attention from both local and international investors since its early stages, thanks to the strength of its technical team and the global relevance of its technology.

The acquisition aligns with GlobalFoundries’ strategy to strengthen its capabilities in silicon-photonics solutions and high-speed data center communications.
