Google Expands Its AI Travel Tools: New Features for Booking and Trip Planning Directly in Search

• Global expansion of Flight Deals, now available in 200+ countries and 60+ languages to help users quickly find the best airfare offers.

• New trip-planning features via Canvas in AI Mode, allowing users to generate complete travel itineraries with real-time data on flights, hotels, restaurants, and activities.

• Expanded agentic booking capabilities, enabling U.S. users to book restaurants and events directly through AI Mode, with future plans to support full flight and hotel bookings.

Google is pushing deeper into AI-powered travel planning with a new set of features designed to make searching, organizing, and booking trips much easier. The company announced an expanded global rollout of its Flight Deals tool, new trip-planning capabilities through Canvas in AI Mode, and broader access to its AI-driven booking assistant.

Global Rollout of Flight Deals

Google originally launched Flight Deals in August across the U.S., Canada, and India. Now, the company is taking the tool worldwide—making it available in more than 200 countries and territories and supporting over 60 languages.

The tool uses generative AI to help travelers quickly find affordable destinations. Users simply describe where, when, and how they want to travel, and Flight Deals surfaces the best offers instantly.

Countries now included in the rollout span the U.K., France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and many more.

AI Mode Brings Trip Planning to Canvas

Google is also expanding what users can do inside AI Mode, adding powerful trip-planning features through the Canvas tool.

Originally designed as a workspace to organize study plans and research, Canvas can now build complete travel itineraries. After describing the type of trip they want, users can select “Create with Canvas” to generate a personalized plan.

The travel plan includes:

  • Real-time data from Google Flights and hotel listings

  • Photos, reviews, and location details from Google Maps

  • Restaurant and activity recommendations based on distance and travel time

  • Hotel comparisons by price, amenities, and ratings

  • Suggestions that match the user’s budget and preferences

Travelers can also ask follow-up questions or adjust the plan—like choosing between a hotel closer to a favorite café or one closer to hiking trails.

This feature is currently available for desktop users in the U.S. who are opted into the Labs experiment.

Expanded AI Booking Assistance

Google is widening access to AI Mode’s agentic booking capabilities, which help users complete reservations directly through Search.

Earlier this year, this feature was available only to Labs users. Now, it’s being rolled out to all U.S. users, enabling AI-assisted booking for:

  • Restaurant reservations

  • Event tickets

  • Beauty and wellness appointments

Users can specify details such as party size, date, time, preferred cuisine, and location. AI Mode then checks real-time availability across multiple platforms and presents a curated list of options.

Coming Soon: Full Flight and Hotel Booking in AI Mode

The next step for Google is even bigger. The company plans to let users complete flight and hotel bookings directly inside AI Mode.

In the future, travelers will be able to:

  • Compare flights based on price, schedules, and airlines

  • Browse hotel photos, amenities, and reviews

  • Evaluate room options

  • Finalize bookings seamlessly without leaving Search

This shift positions Google Search as a full travel-planning and booking hub powered by AI.
