Abu Dhabi is set to launch a $150 million investment fund under the name “Beam Ventures,” which will focus on the gaming industry.

The launch of this fund aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for electronic games in the region, accelerating the growth of startups in the Web 3 gaming sector that relies on artificial intelligence technologies.

The fund’s launch will help establish an accelerated program for startups lasting 12 weeks, allowing them to participate remotely, which enhances their growth potential in this promising sector.

Mark Borsten, Chief Strategy Officer at Beam Ventures, confirmed that the fund is designed for a duration of 3 to 5 years and is intended for a larger investor base, while also helping to build a local ecosystem in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, Saeed Al-Fazari, Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, explained that the department has spent the last three years building infrastructure for electronic games in Abu Dhabi.

He regarded the creation of a fund dedicated to gaming as a crucial step to ensure the continued growth of this ecosystem.

Abu Dhabi also aims to develop a gaming-dedicated island with an investment of $1 billion, led by the company True Gamers.
