Best Kept Shared, a UAE-based startup operating a peer-to-peer fashion rental platform, has announced its acquisition of the fashion resale platform Bazaara, in a deal whose financial details have not been disclosed.
Bazaara was founded in 2021 by Alyssa Mariano and successfully raised $230,000 in an investment round led by Flat6Labs UAE in early 2023. Best Kept Shared was also established in 2023 by Kelly Power and Sophie Kjoller, aiming to create a platform similar to Airbnb for fashion.
According to a statement from both companies, the acquisition will allow Best Kept Shared to expand its user base and increase its inventory of fashion items. Additionally, 40,000 users from Bazaara will be transitioned to Best Kept Shared. The statement further noted that this move aims to integrate Bazaara’s network with Best Kept Shared’s existing infrastructure, providing customers with more options for buying, selling, and renting luxury fashion.
Under the terms of the deal, Alyssa Mariano will join the Best Kept Shared team in an advisory role following the completion of the acquisition.
