Arada Launches Yalla: A Sustainable Electric Mobility Solution in Aljada in Sharjah

Arada, a leader in innovative real estate development in the UAE, recently launched “Yalla” service, representing a sustainable electric solution for urban mobility that facilitates easy and environmentally friendly movement for residents and visitors in the company’s communities. The Yalla service was first launched in the integrated Aljada community in the heart of Sharjah, allowing users to rent bikes and electric scooters quickly and easily through a dedicated app and website.

The introduction of the Yalla service in Aljada, Sharjah’s largest mixed-use urban community extending over 24 million square feet, will enable residents and visitors to move easily between neighborhoods, suburbs, and streets within the community in a sustainable way, providing an effective alternative to car use. Renting bikes and electric scooters through the Yalla service will be available to adults aged 18 and above at several selected locations in Aljada, in addition to providing parking and charging stations. A single charge will be sufficient to travel 50 kilometers using a Yalla electric bike with the assistance of a traditional pedal system and 20 kilometers using an electric scooter.

The Yalla service will enhance urban mobility as it provides an efficient and comfortable riding technology that reduces traffic and air pollution. All bikes and scooters are equipped with front lights, digital driving modes, and a speed limit of 25 km/h, offering a safe and comfortable means of transportation around the area.

Commenting on this, Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, CEO of the group at Arada, said: “The Yalla urban mobility solution represents a valuable addition to the sustainable smart city model in Aljada; in addition to providing an economical alternative to cars, the Yalla service offers a solution that reduces carbon emissions and encourages a healthy and active lifestyle. This aligns with the UAE’s goals to reduce its carbon footprint by 40% by 2030.”

The electric bikes and scooters from Yalla have been activated on a trial basis over the past few weeks in Aljada, and the initiative has seen widespread interest and positive feedback from residents and visitors who took the opportunity to explore the tree-lined streets and expansive green parks in the Aljada community.

Moreover, electric mobility is one of the key elements in Arada’s plans to build a smart city in Aljada, in addition to using smart solar energy solutions, smart waste and traffic management solutions, and introducing “The Sustainable Path” dedicated to electric vehicles. Each residential unit sold in Aljada is equipped with a standard package of smart home technologies.

Aljada community, which has won numerous awards, encompasses a total of 25,000 residential units and will contribute to changing the urban landscape in the Emirate of Sharjah upon completion, with a range of commercial, hotel, entertainment, sports, educational, and health facilities, in addition to a square for offices and companies, all situated within a carefully designed green master plan to provide an exceptional living experience.
